Kids say the darndest things!

Last night we went to a viewing.  We took Avery, I didn’t think it would be a big deal.  I figured we could avoid the coffin, since I like to avoid it as well.  Avery saw it  and said “I want to go see her”. So we walked over, and I told her the woman was dead and she said, “she can take off her head”.  Luckily no one was around!  This comes from the movie Nightmare Before Christmas, when Jack Skellington is singing “and since I am dead, I can take of my head to recite Shakespearean quotations”.

Scroll down for more posts, that are hopefully less embarrasing!

Her name is Rosario, but we call her “Rosie”.  She is a very sweet little girl.  Avery is packing her around everywhere and Rosie lets her.  Arty was a little jealous at first, but he is coming around.  She likes to get up at 5am and wake the entire household!  Aren’t puppies fun?

California Trip

We went to Newport Beach this last week with my brother Troy and his girlfriend Jen.  We had a great time. We did some shopping, played on the beach, and had a good time.

Avery didn’t like the beach. She liked playing in the sand, but the water was a little scary to her. Darren carried her out in the water for a while and she liked that.

This is the Newport Temple.  It is pink!  You can see Jen is holding Avery in this picture and most of the trip. She was very attached to Troy and Jen. Darren and I thought it very nice to bring along the “nanny” and the “au pair” with us.

Jen’s dad took Avery around the temple grounds. They played in the fountain and  looked for bees and butterflies. Avery had a great time with him.

Avery loved the “horsies” at the mall.  We had a great vacation, it was much too short! Back to real life.

The Zoo!

This monkey was just checking us out.

We actually went to the zoo a few weeks ago, but I haven’t yet posted about it. We had a fun time, Avery really liked the animals (Darren too, he’s an animal nerd. guaranteed he will read this post and complain that I called this animal above a “monkey”, and not say what kind of “monkey”). It was super hot that day! We were happy to leave a little early.

Tina and Avery on the elephant.

Looks pretty close to me! Maybe too close? Darren said, “I have him on height, but he has me on reach”. Are they going to play basketball together?

Madison and Avery.

You are Cinderella!

Jen had this quiz on her blog, so I took it.
